Mission Critical Facilities
Location: Washington, D.C
Project Value: $600K and 300K sf
Project Details:
NAFVAC contractors needed help walking through and preparing for the site’s commissioning. Therefore, I was employed to help with their utility assessment and improvement project. I reviewed as-built drawings to ensure they matched construction and helped with the close out packages. This project focused on a new facility that serves as the new utility plant in order to supply and generate 18 MW of power to existing and new adjacent facilities located within the campus. The new building holds additional backup power with advanced monitoring and control to improve distribution resiliency and reliability. System commissioning included medium voltage switchgear, standby generator system, ATS, UPS, distribution panelboards, switchboards, transformers and integrated controls system.
Challenges We Overcame:
The construction did not match the as-built and getting the documentation together. Therefore, I worked with the various teams to help close out and turnover all the systems to the owner.
